I’ve been experimenting with technique and form in my art practice, but generally I’m interested in the recitation, performance, and inheritance of certain modes of identity in relation to a variety of intimate relationships and their proclivity to haunt our interior world. This interest has been settling on notions of child/girlhood, group dynamics, and a sort of meditation on things like naivety and sentimentality. I also am interested in power dynamics and consider the space between a variety of binaries: male/female, adult/child, family/society, public/private, strange/familiar. My interests are not quite positive; in many ways i’m looking to access an unresolved feeling of tension that can be related to very intimate relationships. Finally, I’m actively exploring the spaces between as they relate to formal artistic languages, philosophies, spheres and methodologies, investigating notions of value creation and assignation within existing structures.
