Max Ross is a Chicago-based painter from Massachusetts. Ross is obsessed with intimacy; working from themselves, from loved ones, or from meaningful spaces. Themes of queerness and family drive their perspective on subjects. Ross’ direct connection to their work through these relationships is necessary for their practice. The practice of gratitude for these connections and the desire to memorialize these queered relationships is where Ross begins.
