Jazzy Smith is a writer and filmmaker in Chicago. She researches the process of loss. Her interests are in gender and sexual violence, racial injustice, a disappearing public education, and the economization of everything within 21st century. Her work engages with the complexity of loss with dangerous, perverse, but utmost necessary humor – as well as deep devastation – as well as phenomenal hope.
