Isidore Bethel is a French-American filmmaker. A graduate of Harvard College (A.B.) and l’École Normale Supérieure (M.A.), and an M.F.A. candidate at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, he has made films with directors Jean-Xavier de Lestrade, Dominique Cabrera, Laurent Bécue-Renard, and Juan Manuel Sepúlveda, with films at Cannes (Official Selection), IDFA (Amsterdam), the Museum of Modern Art (NYC), the Kunsthalle Bern (Germany), the Beirut Art Center (Lebanon), and the Pompidou Center (Paris). He has been a Lagardère Foundation Fellow (2013), a Jack Kent Cooke Fellow for the Arts (2014-2017), a Tribeca Film Institute Network Participant, and a Film Independent and IFP Fellow (2017) as well as an artist-in-residence with the Institut Français (2016) and the Villa Médicis in Rome (2017).
