I am a human recorder of my personal historical records using animated images, emotional abstraction, cubist composition, and natural signs. I mix the exterior appearance of my daily lives—whose order and hierarchy have lost their meanings—with the internal nature, or essence, that resides in them. The internal nature, or essence, here refers to “the inscape” that is redefined through the combination of the mundane reality and the psychic realm of the mind. Through pattern and symbolic sign of American Comics and Japanese Anime, I depict the visible experience of “the actuality of my everyday life and the Korean’s social identity itself”. It is my long term goal that my chronological records can show not only my personal history but also a part of contemporary history if I keep recording my personal history through my whole life.
