Parents of SAIC Alum Establish New Professorship and Fellowship in Art History

October 9, 2014

SAIC received a $2.5 million gift, the largest ever from parents of an SAIC alum, from the Mohn Family Foundation to support a first-of-its-kind professorship and fellowship within the School’s Department of Art History, Theory, and Criticism. Art historian and longtime SAIC Professor David Raskin was named as the first Mohn Family Professor of Contemporary Art History, who will collaborate with the Mohn Family Graduate Fellow to generate primary research on projects to advance the understanding and impact of art history and criticism. Jarl and Pamela Mohn are the parents of Katrina Mohn who graduated with a Master of Arts degree in 2014. Jarl is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of NPR.
