María Luisa is a Chicago based artist working with live performance, video, and ________. Playing with aesthetics of opacity and transparency, she explores the desire to not be seen, oscillations between apathy and empathy, and immobility. She aims to complicate the idea of visibility as freedom and illegibility as threat, as related to commodification and control of identity and relation as oppressive systems continue to be embedded in technology -and all the anxieties and run-on sentences that follow.
