Analog Studio [MC 416] (SND)

  • Access: Available to students enrolled in specific Sound classes

  • Description: The Analog Studio is a professional recording facility outfitted with a variety of vintage and contemporary analog equipment. Notable items are the forty-year-old Emu analog synthesizer, vintage Mood Vocoder, and other rare and esoteric equipment.
  • Comments: Patrons should make reservations in Patron Portal Room Reservation Checkout Center. Physical keycards are no longer circulated through the Media Center.

 

Digital Studio [MC 417] (SND)

  • Location: MacLean, Rm 417
  • Access: Available to students enrolled in specific Sound classes
  • Training Materials: online Studio Guide 
  • Description: The Digital studio is a professional facility with a focus on recording digitally. It is connected to Whisper Room, allowing recording between both rooms.
  • Comments: Patrons should make reservations in Patron Portal Room Reservation Checkout Center. Physical keycards are no longer circulated through the Media Center.

Grad Studio 1 [MC 108] (SND)

Intro Studio [MC 420] (SND)

  • Description: This studio is primarily for students enrolled in Introduction to Sound classes and features an eclectic collection of equipment including reel-to-reel tape recorders, analog synthesizers, and vintage audio processors.

Multi-Channel Studio [MC 522] (SND)

  • Location: MacLean, Rm 522
  • Access: Available to students enrolled in specific Sound classes

  • Description: MC522 is a multipurpose facility that serves both as classroom, lecture space, and also houses a six-channel speaker array for multi-channel sound work.
