Creating new realities is not a distant fantasy.

It is essential for our survival.

How are we reconstructing and claiming our pasts for the present?

In Embodied Histories: Reconstructing the Present, each work becomes the site where the artists’ lived experiences and artistic practices converge. Presenting the work of eleven SAIC artists, this exhibition challenges preconceptions and reveals alternate spaces. Some of these spaces already exist, hidden just out of view, while others are just now materializing through the works on view. These works not only provide distinctive ways to understand the world but a way to question our reality and place in it.
