Exhibition Statement as Preserved in the SUGS/SITE Archives:

Celebrating 50 years of students and alumni. Body Lanuage addresses the way students through the decades have used the human form to communicate personal, intellectual, emotional, or cultural issues. Despite widely disparate conceptual and formal concerns among media and from movement to movement, SAIC has remained a center for artists across genres and locales to study the human form as a vehicle for conveying information. Presented in this exhibition are works by SAIC stuents spanning more than fifty years, undergraduate and graduate, in various media, all exploring the representation of the human form and its many contexts.
