Exhibition Statement as Preserved in the SUGS/SITE Archives:

ad hoc is the circular process of creating and recreating meaning. It emerges not from consensus, but from layered connections across time and text. It is cycles of water, concepts moving in a circle, continuously evaporated and redistributed before pooling together to begin again. The only certainty is uncertainty. The form will always change, the meaning will always fluctuate, text is always altered by perspective. ad hoc asks for complete focus on the current context. How do we take what we already have so abundantly in the world and transform it to reflect the now? ad hoc seeks innovation as an open ended inquiry, requesting that the participant exists with intention.
