Rafael Vera and Dov Scher

Exhibition Statement as Preserved in the SUGS/SITE Archives:

“ECHO” is an installation, which addresses the vestiges of minimalism that exist in the individual studio practice of Rafael Vera and Dov Scher. Rafael Vera investigates and challenges the painting/ sculpture divide, and notions of individual style and continuity. Dov Scher investigates similar issues with two wall pieces, which by their scale alone begin to engage a dialogue between sculpture and painting. The artists collaborate to give the viewer the sense of participating in the space of the art object.
