Exhibition Statement as Preserved in the SUGS/SITE Archives:

The title of this exhibition “ABC” refers to one of the original names for minimalism. In this context it also refers to codes, language (especially at a formative level) and to early childhood chants. The concerns with childhood, the table rasa, and the Id of art were eventually all but forgetten as minimalism pursued purified abstraction and elimination of reference. This exhibition brings together two artists who are interested in reformulating these matters into alternate trajectory.
