Contributing Artist

Thuy-Han Nguyen-Chi

Exhibition Statement as Preserved in the SUGS/SITE Archives:

Thuy-Han Nguyen-Chi’s (MFA 2019) work is foregrounded by questions of lived experience versus prosthetic memory, the fictive stories of history, and the poetics of temporal and spatial displacement. WHAT MY EYES BEHOLD IS SIMULTANEOUS uniquely presents a selected survey of film and sound installations that showcase the artist surrealist, hallucinatory style. Video footage is shuffled kaledoscopically, distorting fact and lore, the literary and the visual and the imagined and the real.
