Irene Yin and Thomas Gosser

Exhibition Statement as Preserved in the SUGS/SITE Archives:

The very coupling of the photographic works of Thomas Gosser and Irene Yin is unusual as the individual works themselves. The works of Thomas Gosser deal with the dark obscurity of magic and trickery; unbelievable but exciting in implication. In the antithesis, the works of Irene Yin deal with the dark obscurity of the uncontrollable body; believable but disturbing to the rational mind. The oddity, however, lies in the apparent harmony between these artists’ images. Together they carve out a unique simile of Magic and Mind, of distrubance and excitement, and of sexuality and wonder.
