Exhibition Statement as Preserved in the SUGS/SITE Archives:

Wenzel uses dogs like everyone else uses people. He also works with text, and in this case, he attacks the lyrics & music of the iconic band Nirvana, emblazoning their anthems of American youth across the shirsts of angsty dogs. The presentation of this body of work becomes a piece in itself. These tiny cardboard painted-to-look-like-paintings paintings are hung on the wall at height for dogs to see. Its an alternate dog universe art gallery, complete with dog gallery-goers. – Ruprecht Dogheit, Curator
