Exhibition Statement as Preserved in the SUGS/SITE Archives:

Setting: In the southwest corner of a farm, in an ice-house where ice is made, stored and sold; the keeper is freezing tutus. She performs her task only by night so that it is kept a secret. Characters: – Keeper: She is a young woman who is using an ice-house to freeze tutus. She feels as if the tutus are alive and wants to keep and preserve them. Because she desires to keep them, she is constantly afraid they will leave her. And so she writes love letters to her frorzen tutus to persuade them to stay. This one task engrosses her; she has no other concern. The Tutus: The objects that the keeper wishes to preserve – they are her most precious possessions. They are alive yet, Keeper overlooks the properties of ice because she is so taken by her task , and the frozen tutus slowly disappear. She looses her perfect vision.
