Jungle Breed is an exhibition that challenges the conventional representations of Pacific Island culture. The artists examine notions of the formerly ‘uncharted territory’ from which they originate. Leua Fekusone Latai, Tomiko Pilson, and Michelle Corpus present works addressing what it means to be of Pacific Island descent while responding to issues of cultural assimilation, Hollywood fantasy, and anthropological studies.
