out of nowhere takes a philosophical approach to space and how it is ordinarily preconceived a a field of nonbeing from which Being emerges. When we think of ideal space, we also imagine specific place, made finite by the constraints imposed by chance and history. In terms of experience, our living relation to actual space is mediated by a vague mental template of ideal space. out of nowhere is comprised of work by seven artists whose pieces evoke ideal spaces that are haunted by the vestiges of actual spaces which time and memory have displaced.
