“Renovate, Exfoliate, Redecorate” considers the implications of ‘home improvement’, when the line between home and self blurs. By distorting the distinctions between home renovation and personal makeovers, Amy Honchell, Patricia Resseguie and Kristine Woods investigate the irony of using the ‘prefabbed’ to produce a ‘one of a kind’ identity. The resulting disruption and transformation of the home body create paradoxes that reside uncomfortably close to lived experience.
