Girls command the attention of toy manufacturers, feminists, psycologists, movie producers, educators, record companies, and artists. They are not just cheerleaders and ballerinas, girls are complex and fascinating. They live in a world of eating disorders, crushes, tampons, broken homes, and soccar practice. Their many layers are masked by pigtails and braces, lipstick and plaid jumpers.
