Exhibition Statement as Preserved in the SUGS/SITE Archives:
The second iteration of the exhibition, Then I Must Be Grey, seeks to explore the notion of hybridity via the artist’s experiences as a multiracial person. In it, the crocheted stitch is heavily relied upon as a metaphor of the hybridization of race, class, and sexuality. // There will be a participatory, crocheted performance Cocoon during the opening reception.
