Exhibition Statement as Preserved in the SUGS/SITE Archives:

Three transatlantic students present this installation of paintings, video, found objects and photography inspired by a semester at SAIC. Under the influence of their geographic displacement and the everpresent American mass media, Haroon Mirza (UK), Caroline Vion (France), and Charlie Hammond (UK) reflect on their experiences and observations on this side of the pond. Tke a lighthearted look at the USA through the eyes of two blokes et la minette. This exhibition is part of a two show series in Gallery X focusing on the international exchange opportunities fostered by SAIC. Be sure to visit the sister exhibit of work by eight SIAC students who spent two weeks overseas: “Notions of Prague” at Gallery X opens May 8 – May 18.
