Exhibition Statement as Preserved in the SUGS/SITE Archives:

Where the Surface Unfolds explores Sena Park’s surreal world. Here, boundaries scatter and the uncanny begins to wander. These layers are both conceptual and physical, carrying accumulated histories and inherited narratives while unfolding through repetition, transparency, and material overlap. As layered forms and shifting materials come together, the boundaries between self and other, living and nonliving, past and present begin to dissolve. Rather than resolving this state of flux, Park leaves it open, letting the world continue to shift and unfold.

Drawing from imagined narratives and symbolic forms, Park translates the dynamics of her surreal world into physical space. Her works bring poetic episodes into reality through layered objects and environments, offering a way to live with the complexity and instability of the world around us.
