My artwork is inspired by the subjective experience of the human body via our multiple senses I deconstruct my body by “slicing” the body into shapes Those shapes are from different parts of my body, in isolation from the entirety of the human figure, they appear highly abstract. This is to avoid the viewer from being becoming distracted by the human appearance, and the familiarities of figure proportion Also the shape is another approach to gaze the body layer by layer.
At no time can we see and sense our entire body Our mind can easily construct a complete image of ourselves but this is imaginary Even when looking in the mirror we can only see one perspective at a time, most of the time outer backs were hidden out of sight So with my shapes, the viewer cannot grasp the whole picture at the same time.
