SAIC received a $3 million gift from Angela and George Paterakis (Parry) and the George Parry Trust to support the Angela Gregory Paterakis Professorship and a new endowed scholarship. Angela Paterakis (BA 1954), an ardent supporter of art education, graduated from SAIC in 1954. She served as an SAIC faculty member for more than 30 years and was honored with the distinction of Professor Emerita in 2000. The professorship in her name will be used to support a tenured or tenure-track faculty member in the Department of Art Education at SAIC. The endowed scholarship fund created by the George Parry Trust will provide financial assistance to generations of SAIC students.
