Born in Daegu South Korea and raised in San Francisco’s Queer culture, JungHoon feels a state of constant displacement and confusion somewhere in-between multiple cultures.  In the summer of 2009, he left America to go to South Korea.  He lived there for three and half years.  Now back in America, JungHoon is in the process of answering some of his questions:  What can these cultures teach him?  What can they teach others?  And can he reconcile their differences?

 Erotic Futurism

In my journey to understand myself, and to embrace all the different aspects of my identity, I make this fashion film.  I incorporate traditional Korean clothing, East Asian aesthetics of symmetry, geometric order, as well as, asymmetry and organic randomness in the design of my collection.  At the same time, I play around with the San Francisco queer aesthetic of leather, S&M, dominance, submission and roleplaying.
