MEET THE TEAM

INCUBATOR is run by a team of Graduate Curatorial Assistants working for the Department of Exhibitions and Exhibition Studies who facilitate independently submitted student proposals and lead collaborative curatorial projects.

INCUBATOR

Mikayla Hernandez Guevara (she/they)

Graduate Curatorial Assistant

Mikayla is an art historian, curator, and artist originally from East Nashville, Tennessee. They found a love for art at a young age, and later grew to find these artistic expressions to be vital in preserving and understanding their emotions and personal cultural experiences. Previously, Mikayla has held positions as Community Engagement Intern and Gallery Facilitator at the Frist Art Museum in Nashville. Now as a second-year graduate student of Art History and Arts Administration at the SAIC, their interests have grown to focus on Chicana art, racial and ethnic hierarchies in Mexico, and issues concerning Mexican diaspora and borderland aesthetics. In addition to their position at INCUBATOR, Mikayla also works as a Graduate Curatorial Assistant at SAIC Galleries at 33 E Washington.

Llewyn Blossfeld (he/they)

Graduate Curatorial Assistant

Llewyn is an arts administrator, writer, and artist currently pursuing a dual degree MA in Arts Administration and Policy and Modern and Contemporary Art History at SAIC. They have previously worked at art organizations such as MCA Chicago, Walls Turned Sideways, and the Green Family Art Foundation. His writing can be found in the Gay and Lesbian Review and in Fwd Museums: Guide To {…} 2025.

Navya Kowligy Raviraj (she/her)

Graduate Curatorial Assistant

Navya Kowligy Raviraj is a second year graduate student in the Interior Architecture program. Originally from India, she is interested in how design and curation can create immersive stories and meaningful experiences. She often draws inspiration from Indian cultural and architectural traditions, which shape her curiosity about how people connect with the spaces around them.

STAFF ADVISOR

Thương Hoài Trần (she/they) 

Assistant Director of Exhibitions, Staff Advisor for SITE Galleries and INCUBATOR

Thương Hoài Trần holds a BFA in Painting and Printmaking from Emporia State University, and an MFA from the School of Art Institute of Chicago. They began working in the Department of Exhibitions at SAIC in 2020 as a Graduate Gallery Install Assistant, continued in 2022 as a Gallery Technician, and in 2023 as an Exhibition Manager (Art and Media Specialist). Now Thương is the current Assistant Director of Exhibitions, Staff Advisor for SITE Galleries and INCUBATOR.
