The Formlabs 3D printers are capable of printing in various material types. Standard acrylic resins are the most common, while the other materials are used for simulating other material properties.
Gray Pro and Rigid resins are not kept in stock and require 1 week advance notice. Supplies are ordered on demand. Material minimum may be required.
Standard Acrylic |
Standard acrylic resins are the ideal choice for high detail, smooth matte finish, and no required post-curing.
Material Finish Options: White, Black, Gray, Clear, or Any Color Resolution Options: 0.1mm, 0.05mm, (0.025mm - By Request Only) Heat Deflection Temperature: 42°C (107°F) normal, 58°C (137°F) post-cured |
Gray Pro |
Grey Pro Resin offers high precision, moderate elongation, and low creep. This material is great for concept modeling and functional prototyping, especially for parts that will be handled repeatedly.
Material Finish Options: Gray Resolution Options: 0.1mm, 0.05mm Heat Deflection Temperature: 62°C (144°F) post-cured Lead Time: Allow an extra week on all orders for ordering time. Material minimum may be required |
Durable |
With low modulus, high elongation, and high impact strength, Durable Resin produces parts with a smooth, glossy finish and high resistance to deformation. Use this material for applications requiring minimal friction.
Material Finish Options: Translucent White Resolution Options: 0.1mm, 0.05mm Heat Deflection Temperature: <30°C (<86°F) normal, 43°C (110°F) post-cured |
Tough 1500 |
Tough Resin balances strength and compliance, making it the ideal choice for prototyping strong, functional parts and assemblies that will undergo brief periods of stress or strain.
Material Finish Options: Light Gray Resolution Options: 0.1mm, 0.05mm Heat Deflection Temperature: 32°C (91°F) normal, 46°C (114°F) post-cured |
Rigid |
Rigid Resin is reinforced with glass to offer very high stiffness and a polished finish. This material is highly resistant to deformation over time and is great for printing thin walls and features.
Material Finish Options: White Resolution Options: 0.1mm, 0.05mm Heat Deflection Temperature: 74°C (165°F) post-cured Lead Time: Allow an extra week on all orders for ordering time. Material minimum may be required. |
Flexible 80A |
Use Flexible Resin to produce parts that bend and compress. Flexible is excellent for simulating soft-touch materials and adding ergonomic features to multi-material assemblies.
Material Finish Options: Translucent Resolution Options: 0.1mm, 0.05mm Softening Temperature: 230°C (446°F) cured or uncured |
Elastic 50A |
The softest of the Engineering Resin, this material is suitable for prototyping parts normally produced with silicone. Choose Elastic Resin for parts that will bend, stretch, compress, and hold up to repeated cycles without tearing. Material Finish Options: Translucent White Resolution Options: 0.1mm |
