Beatrice (“Buddy”) Cummings Mayer (HON 2012), a longtime advocate of the arts and supporter of SAIC, announced a generous gift to establish need-based scholarships for economically disadvantaged undergraduate students. The Beatrice C. Mayer Scholarships will support SAIC’s long-standing commitment to providing a world-class art and design education for all students, regardless of economic background. Mayer is a passionate advocate of social justice and has dedicated her life to supporting philanthropic causes and to building a better Chicago through a strong sense of community. She is a Life Trustee on the Board of Trustees of the Art Institute of Chicago.
