Do you love printing, drawing, paper and all things Risography?

Then the Riso Club is for you!

What is the ‘Riso Club’?

Riso Club is a monthly print gathering hosted by the Service Bureau. It’s a space to experiment, play, and explore the Riso printer – without the pressure of submitting a formal print order.

We created Riso Club after realizing that members of the SAIC community wanted more opportunities to print and continue learning about the Riso machine in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere.

Calendar of Events:

Wednesday, March 4th –  Two Color Print Party!

3:30-6pm
Sharp Room 1114

Join us for a Two Color Analog Riso Session – fast, fun and joyfully communal. This is a high-energy, low-pressure space where experimentation rules and happy accidents are celebrated.
You will overlay bold shapes and patterns to create your own vibrant artwork, embracing the tactile magic of analog printmaking.

Bring scissors or other cutting implements to collage, remix and play. Material and some cutting implements will be provided.

No experience needed – just curiosity and a willingness to jump in.

My student group or club is interested in hosting a Riso Event?

Yes! We would love to work with you. Please email Jennifer Keats the Service Bureau Manager and she will get back to you about your event, dates and times that can work and what you are looking to accomplish. Typically, Monday and Wednesday after 3:30 is our slot for Student Groups.  { Jennifer Ketas – jkeats@saic.edu }

Can I visit the Service Bureau and see the Riso in action?

Unfortunately, our Riso sits right in the middle of our production space. Due to space limitations and production times it is hard to have people stop in to see the machine during our normal production times.

With that said, we will be running Riso workshops this semester that will allow the community to see how the Riso works and our Riso Club will be hosting events outside the Service Bureau in a space that can accommodate larger groups and allow users to interact with the machine.

Be sure to sign up for our Riso Club Newsletter to get the most up-to-date information about workshops and events sent directly to you!
